On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join their leadership team based in Copenhagen. The company, established in 2021, is a well-respected production company specialising in innovative solutions within the manufacturing industry. With a focus on advanced technology and operational excellence, the company is poised for continued growth and expansion.
As COO, you will be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency and productivity across the organisation. You will play a key role in shaping the company’s strategic direction and ensuring smooth production processes while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and compliance. The COO will report directly to the CEO and will lead a dedicated team across multiple departments, including production, logistics, and quality control.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Lead and manage the company’s production and operational activities, ensuring efficient workflows and optimised production processes.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the executive team to develop long-term strategies that drive business growth, improve production capacity, and enhance overall operational performance.
- Production Oversight: Oversee all aspects of the production process, from planning to execution, ensuring that production targets are met, and quality standards are maintained.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes, focusing on automation, cost reduction, and increased efficiency in production and logistics.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure that the company adheres to all relevant safety regulations, Danish employment laws, and EU compliance standards. Take responsibility for implementing safety protocols and overseeing workplace safety programmes.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the production, quality assurance, logistics, and HR departments to ensure seamless operations and alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.
- Supply Chain & Logistics Management: Manage and optimise the company’s supply chain, including procurement, inventory management, and distribution to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products.
- Talent Management: Lead, mentor, and develop department heads to foster a high-performance culture. Ensure the team is well-equipped to meet operational demands and aligned with the company’s vision.
- Financial Oversight: Manage the operational budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and maintaining control over operational costs.
Requirements
- A degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related fields, with an MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in operational leadership, ideally in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of production processes, supply chain management, and operational efficiency.
- Extensive experience in managing compliance, safety regulations, and Danish/EU employment law.
- Proven track record of driving process improvements and optimising production.
- Fluency in both Danish and English, with excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing operational budgets.
Offered Benefits
- The position is based in Copenhagen.
- A company car is provided, valued at up to DKK 400,000 (leased and replaced every three years).
- Official working hours are 37 hours per week, with six weeks of annual leave.
- Competitive annual salary of approximately DKK 1,400,000, including an 11% pension contribution funded by the company.
- The role requires occasional travel within Europe, with up to 10-15 travel days per year.
